Lil Wayne Sued For Cancelled Show, Manager Responds

Posted in Lil Wayne on July 11, 2009 by mrinfouk01

Red City Entertainment has sued New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne over a September 27, 2008 cancelled show in the Bahamas.

According to TMZ, Red City had planned on paying Weezy $432,000 for the show, and had given him an advance of $210,000. However, Red City representatives allege Wayne was found in his hotel room “unconscious” at the time he was supposed to be performing.

The rappers’ manager Cortez Bryant has spoken out on the issue, arguing the cancelled show was a rescheduled performance from the day before.

Our show was set for September 26 last year. We arrived on time, ready to perform and learned that due to lack of payment from the promoters, the sound company they had hired packed up and left the venue before Wayne was scheduled to hit the stage. So they were forced to cancel the show. On those grounds, at that moment, they were in breach of contract and forfeited their deposit,” he said in a statement to AllHipHop.com.

Explaining that Wayne had agreed to reschedule for a performance the next day, Bryant said the promoters failed to follow proper procedures that satisfied their contract. “When I arrived at the venue, the security was horrible, causing it to be an unsafe environment and the sound system wasn’t up to our contracted standard.” Continuing, Bryant stated, “I then told the promoters Wayne wasn’t coming because they didn’t have their setup to a contracted standard for the second night in a row.”

Red City Entertainment is seeking $432,000 in the lawsuit.

Cam’ron Adjusts “Oh Boy” Lyrics To Dipset Fallout

Posted in Cam’ron on July 10, 2009 by mrinfouk01

Cam’ron dissed onetime protege and fellow Diplomats member Juelz Santana on stage earlier this week. While performing “Oh Boy,” Cam performed a portion of the songs original lyrics, “Listen to my homeboy Santana,” as “Me, myself, no Santana,” and then paused as the crowd’s cheer became louder.

Cam’ron told XXL magazine that he stopped speaking with Juelz Santana because he had an addiction to sizzurp, a mixture of cough medicine and juice. Juelz later told MTV, “I was never addicted to syrup. I was sippin’ it on occasion when I felt like sippin’ it. I don’t know where that came from.

It has almost been a year since the public found out about Cam’ron and Juelz’  split, when Cam’ron reportedly sold JuelzDiplomats Records contract to parent comapny Def Jam Records for $2 million.

The Game Continues To Diss Jay-Z In Concert

Posted in The Game on July 10, 2009 by mrinfouk01

Fresh off of apologizing publicly to 50 Cent, it’s safe to say that The Game has now set his sights on Jay-Z.

Presumably choosing Hov as his new target due to Jay‘s controversial rhyme, which invoked the West Coast emcee’s name, Game initially let fans know via twitter he would let it slide – until he performed a concert in France, during which Game did just the opposite.

Just like his concert in France, Game incited his crowd to chants of “Fuck Jay-Z!” and “Old-ass nigga!” In addition, Game referred to the veteran rapper as “Gay-Z,” a moniker famously given to Jay in Nas‘ infamous diss Ether.

Game referred to other rappers who had beefs with Jay-Z in the past, comparing his own disposition to that of Tupac and Nas, and follwed it with a rhyme.

Many Hip Hop fans have long-wondered if Jay-Z and Game were at odds ever since Game‘s first album, Documentary. On the song “Westside Story.” Game rapped, “And I don’t do button-up shirts or drive Maybachs.” Even though Game denied the diss on the album’s title track, many perceived that he did so with sarcasm.
